Retail Windows System Engineer

Become a Part of the Client Team

As a Retail Windows Systems Engineer, you'll be an important part of a team responsible for the ongoing operations and support of the IT infrastructure of our Client global retail stores. You'll ensure continuing service operations for all locations are working as designed, as well as working through external Service Providers and internal teams in planning and executing builds, upgrades, modifications, and divestitures.

In support of Client's global focus, you'll contribute to the integration and engineering of the Client Windows systems, including working with geographic teams to incorporate specific local requirements. Your subject areas will include traditional infrastructure components such as servers, and storage, as well as retail-specific mechanisms when needed.  In addition, you'll work closely with the remote smart hands, operations, business, and partner teams to ensure successful results.

In addition to those general role responsibilities, you’ll need some specific experience and have some specific accountability, including:

  • Advanced level of server support knowledge. This experience should include the following:  Windows Server (2012/2016/2019), HyperV (2012/2016/2019), Active Directory
  • SCCM task sequence management
  • Powershell automation background a plus
  • Communicate and coordinate with remote hands and retail personnel in Retail Stores
  • Project management and organizational skills must be sophisticated enough to be able to track and drive complex global technical initiatives to completion with the assistance of Retail IT/third party vendor staff
  • Ability to support working outside of normal business hours to provide after hour support when necessary to solve high profile issues or complete critical path projects
  • Participation in off-hours changes
  • Candidate would benefit from server deployment/build experience
  • Familiarity and adherence to Change Management processes
  • Previous experience with:  Jira, Confluence, and Service Now

To make it clear, we’re not looking for just anyone.  We’re looking for someone special, someone who had these experiences and clearly demonstrated these skills:

  • 2+ years' experience in IT, business or a related field
  • Previous experience with Retail or Remote office deploys beneficial
  • Ability to pull a diverse group of individuals with different goals together and facilitate productive discussions
  • Clear speaking voice, cool under pressure
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
  • Flexible, ability to deal with ambiguity, and a demonstrated desire for continuous personal growth
  • Demonstrated leadership capability, including ability to motivate and mentor others within work group
  • Ability to work with onshore/offshore teams, and communicate using virtual communication tools (phone, conferencing, online meeting)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills to effectively communicate with both business and technical IT teams
  • Ability to pass a 7 year background investigation.
