General Position Summary:
As Facilities Supervisor you will oversee team members and operations within our facilities organization at Mountain Hardwear’s main corporate offices. You will oversee the operations for internal/external facility maintenance, janitorial staff, building technician, shipping and receiving team, security systems, plan routine maintenance, scheduling service contractors, and ensuring that facilities are maintained to code.

Job Scope:
Job responsibilities are carried out in a work environment that consists of new and recurring work situations. Job involves a moderate degree of detail or complexity. Participates in the development of policies and educates others on policy compliance. Job tasks are normally performed under little supervision. Work is occasionally spot checked or proofed against a standard or original. Decisions are made within prescribed company policy guidelines and constraints however independent judgment is often needed in resolving problems. Errors in work or judgment can cause delays, cost the company money or result in inaccurate information being used as a basis for decision making.

Position manages Shipping and Receiving Personnel, Building Technicians and Custodians

Coordinate staff/vendors from various other areas of responsibility including building maintenance, janitorial and security.

As Facilities Supervisor you will oversee team members and operations within our facilities organization at Mountain Hardwear’s main corporate offices. You will oversee the operations for internal/external facility maintenance, janitorial staff, building technician, shipping and receiving team, security systems, plan routine maintenance, scheduling service contractors, and ensuring that facilities are maintained to code. 

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

Space Planning:

  • Work with Mountain Hardwear management to plan effective and efficient use of space based on organizational structure and corporate goals. Incorporate growth needs into department space plan.
  • Work with Corporate Space Planning at CSC to design floor plans using automated CAD software to meet criteria of department, building codes and regulations.
  • Help assess individual employee ergonomic requirements, designing work areas to meet these requirements, and modifying office designs as necessary to comply with unusual situations and assuring compliance with ADA and OSHA regulations.

Building Maintenance:

  • Coordinate building maintenance for corporate facilities by supervising employees and ensuring standards are established and met.
  • Includes negotiating outside contracts and ensuring work meets contract specifications for outside contractors for facilities and grounds maintenance.
  • Team with Procurement to evaluate, select, and negotiate with certified service contractors to perform maintenance at competitive rates and oversee work performed.  Scope of maintenance includes electrical, HVAC, plumbing, structural, painting, landscaping.
  • Schedule routine preventative maintenance/inspections and unscheduled repairs for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting systems, and fire sprinklers/alarms.
  • Perform routine minor maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Respond to employee requests for assistance with problems/issues related to the facility.
  • Supervise janitorial staff ensuring that corporate standards are met.
  • Maintain inventory of custodial supplies and ensure hazardous products are appropriately marked and used.

Security and Safety:

  • Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and corporate regulations related to building safety and security.
  • respond to alarms as needed.
  • Develop procedures to ensure safety and security of all building assets.
  • Determine first aid supply needs, location of cabinets, and ensure cabinets are fully supplied.
  • Manage, maintain and monitor Access Control Security System.  Program the system to accommodate changes and additions.  Train security personal to use and monitor the system.
  • Will be an active member of the Safety Committee.
  • Provide a clean, organized and safe working environment for the entire facility.
  • Protect well-being and safety of employees and direct team members through training in safe work practices; confirm safe work practices are being followed
  • Ensure that all equipment is safe, in good working order and properly maintained
  • Review all areas of the facility for safety and housekeeping compliance; identify and correct safety risks; notify management immediately of any safety hazards, accidents or concerns
  • Ensure the facility is always “tour ready”

Shipping and Receiving:

Manage shipping and receiving team personnel ensuring processes are kept up to date and running efficiently for mail and packaging.

Fiduciary

Partner with finance to manage budgets, forecast and develop Long Range Planning scenarios. Track budgets by gl line and management of capex budgets. 

Staffing and Scheduling

  • Schedules employees and assigns work to ensure adequate coverage to meet business goals; monitors workflow, anticipates changes and adjusts staffing, as needed
  • Approves time off requests, overtime, absences

Team Leadership

  • Oversees and provides direction to all Facilities full time employees plus additional seasonal and/or temporary employees in area of responsibility
  • Establishes workload priorities and provides clear, daily objectives for the area team.
  • Creates and maintains a high performing, productive work environment in alignment with Mountain Hardwear’s company culture and values; fosters high morale.
  • Establishes and monitors annual goals for area of responsibility that align with company goals, in conjunction with Manager.
  • Trains, develops and manages performance of employees, including: establishes and communicates goals and expectations; trains team members on core job responsibilities, service standards and systems and other cross-training needs.
