Job Description

Client  Smart Systems envisions, develops, and commercializes the future of digitally enabled and connected products that serve athletes. We are looking for an experienced Lead Technical Product Manager to join our team. As a Technical Product Manager for Client  Smart Systems, you will be responsible for translating the vision and business strategy for Connected Products into detailed technical requirements necessary to engineer the final product. In this role, you will work closely with various functional teams, including Engineering, Design, Sport Research, Program Management, and Product Management to deliver Connected Products and Services that help athletes get better and motivate them to make Sport a daily habit. Responsibilities

  • Translate the vision and business strategy for Connected Products into clear, actionable features and technical product requirements for Firmware, Software, and Algorithm Engineering teams
  • Own, prioritize, and maintain the Firmware/Software Platform feature backlog and roadmap, ensuring features and platform capabilities being developed are aligned with the highest value Product and Service opportunities
  • Collaborate closely with a cross-functional team of Engineering, Design, Sport Research, Program Management, and Product Management across the complete product lifecycle from initial definition through consumer release and post-launch support for new product features and platform capabilities
  • Clearly communicate customer needs, product requirements, and acceptance criteria to internal and external teams of development and QA engineers
  • Define KPIs and success criteria for feature validation testing
  • Provide regular updates to leadership which include details of feature options, tradeoffs, and risks in order to drive critical Product/Platform decisions
  • Balance competing priorities from a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders to consistently deliver the greatest value for the business and for the customer

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or adjacent field
  • 6+ years of demonstrated Technical Product Management experience with consumer electronic products
  • Proven track record of delivering products that consumers love, with a focus on breaking down a desired consumer experience into high-value features and concise technical requirements
  • Experience with managing products that included 1 or more sensors, embedded algorithms, and Bluetooth connectivity
  • High degree of comfort working with a cross-functional team of engineers, developers, scientists, and designers
  • Experience with generating, maintaining, and prioritizing a feature backlog and roadmap
  • Familiarity and comfort working in both Agile and Waterfall development models
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences, through both presentations and technical documentation
  • Strong attention to detail and an ability to create clarity from ambiguity
  • Ability to think strategically and execute methodically
  • Ability to manage complex initiatives with limited supervision
  • Understanding of hardware/software tradeoffs in battery-powered devices
  • Excellent knowledge of new technology trends in consumer electronic products, and an ability to assess their impact to the roadmap
